Fifty Shades of Grey

I don't know a lot of freshmen this year since it's my last year but, I met this her through one of my close friends. Her name is Juju and she's super enthusiastic all of the time and she's incredibly funny. But one thing that really makes her stand out from the crowd is her individuality. She has this light that makes you want to get closer up to see more of she really is. I don't know a lot about her but she is definitely not a forgotten face. When trying to take these pictures of her she was really shy about it. She kept laughing and that's one thing that I liked when taking her picture. She has a really great smile that she tried to hide while posing for the camera. I purposely had her pose in front of the forest to really bring out her skin tone with the sunlight hitting forehead. The trees really are green which is a complementary color to the color of her shirt and her hair in the colored photo. I did struggle with having her to keep still so I could get a clear photo because as i've said before she is very goofy. But I did manage to quickly snap some clear clean photos of her while still capturing that natural light that really hit her melanin skin just right.
This is Blessing she is a really great friend who will always make you laugh even in times of sadness. I met Blessing in my junior year but we've seen each other around sometimes because we went to the same middle school. She doesn't really believe that she is smart and responsible but I know that is not true because I've seen the determination she has I've seen that side of her that always wants to push herself to do better to be better. Blessing Isn't the typical girly girly, she likes to dress comfortably and she really likes wearing sweats and slides a lot. The environment that I had put her in front of was a mix between urban and nature. In the colored photo I really wanted to capture a moment of her being silly with the urban and nature part almost coming together behind her almost as if she was the one bringing the two together. It was really a challenge to capture her in the sunlight in that exact position but to still also capture the horizon line from behind because her hair was kinda of in the way. another struggle was having that shadow of the building in the black and white photo it's kinda of distracting. In the black and white photo I did mange to use her glasses as sort of the horizon line but also get this like straight focus zoomed in on her.
This is my friend Janaye and she is completely unoriginal and I mean that in a good way. She has this spark that really captures your attention you can't walk around and not notice her if she passed your way. She is always deflecting how she wishes she was more like me and how she is not capable of being smart. No way is that true Janaye has low self esteem even when she feels like she is confident you can see it in her eyes that she doesn't believe in herself, but I do I always have and I always will. One thing you have to understand is that when Janaye says she's going to do something she does she doesn't go back on her word she just does it. I put her in front of this trees to really bring out that quiet and calm side of her that nobody really sees. And I used this organic kind of grainy filter that really captures her innocence. But I did struggle with getting her to let loose and just be comfortable in her own smile her own skin to see what I see. The black and white photo was taken on purpose and then I added a blurred filter to block out that trees because they were kind of distracting to me. Having Janaye brought out of the woods and into the camera I was able to capture a moment of her in and a calm and peaceful state with her looking at the camera as if she was finally realizing that she has this spark in her that she is now coming to realize has always been there.
